Visiting Speakers

During the year, speakers on various subjects relating to video filmmaking are invited to give talks and demonstrations that are of interest to the membership. This year we will be having talks from Ron Clare on video lighting and Nick Gladden on the Northwest Film Archive. In previous years we have had talks from Michael Gough on film production, Rob Mitchell on High definition video and Richard Curry on the IAC music library. We have also seen demonstrations from NVM Digital Music and Trackline Musical Services.

Demonstrations and Workshops

Many of our meetings involve demonstrations on various aspects of video making from planning videos, production and camera techniques to post-production aspects of editing and final production to tape or DVD. Workshop sessions are held in which members have the opportunity to try out techniques demonstrated at earlier sessions.

Competitions

Each year the Club runs regular internal competitions where members can submit videos made, either to a theme or an open choice. By entering competitions members are able to get feedback on the strengths and weaknesses in their work with a view to future improvement. For more information see our competitions page.
